Barquin, Grohn Place In Top-10 At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – The Iowa State women's golf team finished 10th at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, moving up two spots behind a final-round 293.
The Cyclones ended the tournament with a 54-hole score of 900 and their 293 this afternoon tied for the fourth-lowest score of the final round.
N.C. State won the team title at 877
Iowa State made a move in the last round behind the stellar play of Celia Barquin and Amelia Grohn, who carded rounds of 72 and 69, respectively, this afternoon.
Barquin notched her 10th career top-10 finish by tying for seventh at 217 (72-73-72).
Grohn made the top-10 in a tournament for the first time in her career, tying for ninth at 218. After a first-round 78, Grohn finished the last 36 holes at 4-under, carding rounds of 71 and 69. Grohn's career-low 69 this afternoon featured five birdies and tied for the lowest score of the day.
Chayanit Wangmahaporn tied for 26th at 224.
Iowa State is back in action at the Hurricane Invitational, Feb. 27-March 1 in Miami, Fla.
