NAPA, Calif. – The Iowa State women's golf team moved up one spot into a tie for fifth at the Silverado Showdown after carding a second-round 291 this afternoon.
The Cyclones have a two-day 583 tally, 24 shots behind first-place and No. 3 Stanford at 559.
The field consists of 10 teams ranked in the top-50 of the most recent Golfstat national rankings.
Chayanit Wangmahaporn and Amelia Grohn are pacing the Cyclones after two rounds. Both are tied for 12th at 143. Wangmahaporn followed up her first-round 72 with a 1-under 71 this afternoon.
The rookie Grohn matched her career low as a Cyclone with a 69 this afternoon. Her 3-under round featured five birdies.
Nattapan Siritrai is tied for 34th at 148.
The third and final round concludes tomorrow.
