LUBBOCK, Texas – The Iowa State women's golf is in 11th place after the first round of the NCAA Lubbock Regional at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.
The Cyclones carded a first-round 304 in the 18-team field.
Arizona State is the leader after 18 holes at 293, one stroke ahead of second-place Oregon (294).
The top six teams after 54 holes will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 19-24 in Sugar Grove, Ill.
The Cyclones were led by Celia Barquin and Chayanit Wangmahaporn. The duo is tied for 26th after carding a pair of 75s.
Barquin had four birdies on her card today, finishing the last five holes at 1-under. Wangmahaporn tallied a pair of birdies.
True freshman Amelia Grohn is in a tie for 36th after posting a 76. Grohn finished the back nine at 1-over behind a trio of birdies.
The second round is tomorrow with 18 holes, followed by the third and final round on Wednesday.
