AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State swimming and diving team has added another diver to its 2017-18 roster as Dana Liva joins the Cyclones as a transfer from Wisconsin. She will be a junior.
Formerly from Arlington Heights, Illinois, the ex-Badger's personal best on the platform not only qualified her to dive at the 2017 Zones, it also would have placed at her fifth overall on Iowa State's all-time top performers list.
In her senior year of high school, she took home the Illinois state championship in platform diving for Prospect High School under coach Antonino Bondi. She also dove for Glenbrook Aquatics under coach Tony Santucci.
"We're really happy to have [Dana] come to Iowa State. I was thrilled when she told us she was coming. One of the biggest things she brings is she is a fearless platform diver" diving coach Jeff Warrick stated. "I have plenty of platform divers, but she actually goes all the way up to the 10-meter and has a full list up there. That is huge, and really helpful to the team."
Liva is the 10th newcomer to the Cyclones' 2017-18 roster and is also the first diver added to the roster.
