AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State swimming and diving team was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team for the fall 2017 semester. The Cyclones 3.57 semester GPA ranks in the top-25 among the other Scholar All-America teams.
"I'm very pleased with the way our women worked in the classroom this past fall semester," head coach Duane Sorenson said. "The team members set a goal to reach a 3.5 and they exceeded it. We had a lot of people on the Dean's list and it's very exciting they did so well."
Scholar All-America Team honors are given to teams that achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher over the fall semester. The five Big 12 women's swimming and diving programs were all recognized as Scholar All-America teams.
Iowa State swimming and diving placed 21 student-athletes on the Dean's list, including eight Cyclones with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester. The Cyclones will be back in action this Friday at 6 p.m. at Beyer Pool.
