AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team (9-16, 0-9 Big 12) lost 4-0 to No. 11 Texas Tech (18-5, 7-2 Big 12) on Sunday at the Forker Tennis Courts.
Texas Tech won the doubles point as No.1 Texas Tech duo Sabrini Federici and Sarah Dvorak defeated Maty Cancini and Regina Espindola, 6-1. At the No. 3 spot, Annabella Bonadonna and Karen Alvarez dropped their match to Alex Valenstein and Katelyn Jackson, 6-1. Ekaterina Repina and Margarita Timakova's match went unfinished, trailing Felicity Maltby and Gabriela Talaba, 5-2.
In singles action, Texas Tech captured another team point as Jackson defeated Alvarez, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 6 spot. Bonadonna also dropped her match to Dvorak, falling 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 5 position. Texas Tech secured the win at No. 3 as Espindola fell to Maltby, 6-0, 6-2.
