Cyclones Third, Kinney Second At Windon Memorial

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Iowa State men's golf team (292-291-285=868) jumped in the standings to finish third at the Windon Memorial Classic this afternoon. ISU carded a final-round 285 to finish eight strokes behind team champion Marquette.

Junior Tripp Kinney was the runner-up medalist (72-67-68=207), the best finish in his career. He also tied his career-low 54-hole score (207) and added his third career top-10. His final-round 68 included five birdies and an eagle on No. 13, a 357-yard par four.

Junior Sam Vincent (73-77-70=220) moved up eighteen spots in his final round (70) to finish T33rd. Frank Lindwall (76-71-75=222) finished two shots back of Vincent, placing in a tie for 41st.

Lachlan Barker (75-79-72=226) and Ricky Costello (72-76-78=226) both finished T55th, rounding out the scores for the Cyclones.

The Cyclones are back in action Oct 7-8 at the Fighting Irish Classic.
