FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – Iowa State's Ben Kelly closed out the Cyclones' first night at the Razorback Invitational with an indoor personal best in the 200-meter dash. Kelly's performance highlighted a quiet first night at the Tyson Track Center for ISU, with just five Cyclones in action on the first day of competition.
Kelly has continued his strong start to the indoor season with his 21.63 in the 200-meter dash on Friday night. The senior from Richland, Washington saw his indoor personal best in the 200 move him out of a four-way tie for seventh in ISU history for the indoor 200-meter dash to solo seventh place. Kelly will get another chance to run again tomorrow in the 4x400-meter relay.
For the Cyclone women, Zakiyah Amos continued her development in the sprint events for the Cyclones. The freshman from Houston completed her 200m dash in 25.14, 0.19 seconds better than her mark in Iowa City last weekend.
In the field, Chandler Diercks finished 14th in the men's long jump, recording a best leap of 22-8 (6.91m).
