AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's tennis teams continues its fall season at the 2019 Women of Troy Invitational hosted by Southern Cal in Los Angeles, California. The Invitational is set to run from Friday to Sunday at Marks Stadium.
2019 Women of Troy Invitational
Iowa State will be competing against New Mexico, Loyola Marymount, Fresno State and USC.
The Cyclones will be sending Chie Kezuka, Ting-Pei Chang, Christin Hsieh and Karen Alvarez.
Schedule:
Friday
Doubles: Noon and 12:45 p.m.
Singles: 2:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Saturday
Doubles: Noon and 12:45 p.m.
Singles: 12:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Sunday
Doubles: Noon
Singles: 1:45 p.m.

Player to Watch
Iowa State senior Karen Alvarez is the only Cyclone upperclassman headed to Los Angeles this weekend. Last season, the native of Huixquilucan, Mexico went undefeated in matchups against players from schools that will be in attendance at the Women of Troy Invitational.
Cyclone Tennis Quick Hits
-Chie Kezuka, Ting-Pei Chang and Christin Hsieh are all playing in their second career tournaments for the Cyclones.
-Hsieh and Kezuka went 2-0 playing doubles together at the Gopher Invitational.
-Karen Alvarez needs two wins to reach 20 career singles wins.
