Swimming and Diving Adds Nunes To 2019 Class

AMES, Iowa – Head swimming coach Duane Sorenson announced the signing of 2019 recruit Nolwenn Nunes out of Brest, France on Monday. Nunes comes to Iowa State after completing a year at Universite de Bretagne.

Nunes has had a lot of success in both open water and general swimming competition. She has won the Bretagne cup, and finished in the top-10 of the France cup. She was also part of an 800 freestyle relay championship this past summer. Her open water experience in France includes a pair of top-20 finishes in the 2018 open water championship.

"We're very excited to have Nolwenn be part of the Cyclone family," Sorenson said. "She's a great distance swimmer and I think she has a very bright future here. She has a lot of experience and has had success."
