Cyclones Finish Strong At The NIT, Place Fifth In Tough Field

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Iowa State men's golf team placed fifth at The NIT after carding a final-round 278 this afternoon. ISU's 278 tied for the second-lowest score of the last round.
The Cyclones finished the tournament with a 54-hole 840 tally. Arizona State won the team title at 814.
Sophomore Lachlan Barker was the Cyclones' low-man, tying for 11th at 209. Barker posted his second sub-70 round of the tournament this afternoon with a 3-under 69.
Sophomore Frank Lindwall posted his best finish of the season, tying for 13th at 210. Lindwall carded his second-straight 68 this afternoon in a bogey-free round. He now has four sub-70 rounds on the year.
Sophomore Ricky Costello joined Lindwall in notching his career best score as well, tying for 13th at 210. Costello tallied a final-round 69 this afternoon for his second 69 of the tournament. He was 4-under in his last 14 holes this afternoon.
Iowa State is back in action at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, March 24-26.
