AWENDAW, S.C. – The No. 45 Iowa State men's golf team wrapped up play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay with a third-round total of 282, propelling them to a sixth-place finish (287-292-282=861).
In the final round, the Cyclones' five golfers tallied a combined 20 birdies at Bulls Bay Golf Club.
Junior Tripp Kinney and sophomore Lachlan Barker both fired three consecutive rounds of par-or-better golf over three rounds and finished four under, which was good for a tie for eighth. Kinney fired rounds of 69-72-71, while Barker went 70-72-70.
For Kinney, it's his fourth top-10 finish this season and the sixth of his career. This is also Barker's fourth top-10 performance of 2018-19 and the ninth time in his career he's finished in the top-10.
Sophomore Frank Lindwall tied with Lachlan Barker for low round of the day for ISU. Lindwall posted two under 70 in the final round for a three-day tally of 221 (77-74-70). He tied with junior Sam Vincent for 46th individually. Vincent recorded rounds of 71-75-75.
Sophomore Ricky Costello rounded out the Cyclone lineup with a tied for 59th finish behind rounds of 77-74-71 (222).
Next Up
Iowa State will have a couple of weeks off before returning to the course for its final regular season event of the season. The Cyclones will take on the field at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational April 12-13 in Tempe, Ariz.
