Iowa State Caps Off a Perfect Weekend

URBANDALE, Iowa - Iowa State finished off a perfect weekend on Sunday with wins against Northern Iowa and Omaha, extending its winning streak to four matches. Iowa State improves to 4-1 this season.

Iowa State 4, Northern Iowa 0

Strong play by the Cyclones resulted in an easy victory over the Panthers on Sunday morning.

The pairings of Maty Cancini/Ting-Pei Chang and Thasaporn Naklo/Christin Hsieh picked up quick wins in doubles to secure the first point for Iowa State.

The Cyclones continued to roll in singles with Cancini, Naklo and Chie Kezuka finishing their opponents in straight sets to clinch the match. Chang, Hsieh, and Margarita Timakova were also winning their matches when the victory was clinched.

Iowa State 7, Omaha 0

Iowa State won their fourth match in a row on Sunday afternoon by crushing Omaha 7-0.

They controlled the doubles point again with nice wins by Naklo/Hsieh and Cancini/Chang.

Naklo had a dominating singles match where she didn't allow Omaha's Ines Abisisan to win a single game. Kezuka also cruised past her opponent 6-2, 6-2. Hsieh and Cancini had to take their competitive matches to a third set before they claimed wins.
