URBANDALE, Iowa - Iowa State won its second match of the weekend Sunday morning by beating Georgia State 4-1. The win gives the Cyclones a 6-2 record on the season and a six-match home win streak at Life Time Fitness.Â
Iowa State showed the Panthers their strength in doubles with Maty Cancini and Ting-Pei Chang blanking their opponent 6-0 while 51st-ranked Thasaporn Naklo and Christin Hsieh secured the point with a 6-2 victory.Â
Margarita Timakova and Chie Kezuka were also leading when their match went unfinished.
In singles, Chang extended her personal win streak to six in a row with an easy 6-1, 6-2 victory while Naklo swiftly downed Damira Muminovic 6-4, 6-2.Â
Christin Hsieh won a very intense match against Georgia State's Angel Carney, 6-3, 7-6, and Kezuka was the clincher for the Cyclones winning her match 7-6, 6-0 and pushing her win streak to six straight wins.
Iowa State returns to action Friday against Drake at 1 p.m. at Life Time Fitness.
