Iowa State started strong in 2019-20 by tying for third at the Dick McGuire Invitational and winning the East & West Match Play, defeating Wisconsin in the finals, 4-1.
The Cyclones had two players with a top-10 finishes and a total of six rounds in the 60s a year ago, helping the team earn a top-50 national ranking (Golfweek) by season's end.
Head coach Christie Martens, who is entering her 17th season, has formed Cyclone Golf into one of the nation's top programs.
Returning senior Amelia Grohn ended last season with a scoring average of 74.95 and shot a season-low 69. Grohn competed in the U.S. Women's Amateur in 2019 and looks to leave a mark on the team in her last season as a Cyclone.
