AMES, Iowa — The Iowa State soccer team will close the weekend against 11th-ranked TCU Sunday afternoon at the Cyclone Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
KEY STORYLINES
-The Horned Frogs are the second top 15 team to visit the Cyclone Soccer Complex this season, as 15th-ranked Memphis beat the Cyclones 1-0 in overtime on Sept. 9. This will be the third meeting against a top 15 team for the Cyclones this year, having dropped a 4-0 match at 13th-ranked West Virginia Sept. 24.
-Iowa State is coming off a 2-1 loss against Texas Tech on Thursday night. The Cyclones scored the first goal of the match before allowing two in the final 17 minutes.
-TCU ranks in the top 15 in the nation in assists (8th - 40), goals (15th - 36) and points (12th - 112). They lead the Big 12 in all three categories.
-Both the Cyclones and Horned Frogs rank in the top five of the Big 12 in saves per game. Iowa State ranks second with 4.75, while the Horned Frogs are fifth with 4.0 per game.
-TCU ranks fourth in the nation with a .882 save percentage.
-Junior Mira Emma scored her eighth career goal Thursday night against Texas Tech. Emma also has a team-leading three goals scored this season.
-With the assist on Mira Emma's goal Thursday night, redshirt junior Kenady Adams became the 10th different Cyclone to record a point this season.
-Senior Brooke Miller became the fourth active Cyclone to appear in 50 or more career matches with her appearance Thursday against Texas Tech. McKenna Schultz (77), Taylor Bee (62) and Tavin Hays (57) have each played over 50 matches as Cyclones.
