Iowa State qualified two doubles teams, Miska Kadleckova & Sofia Cabezas and Thasaporn Naklo & Christin Hsieh. The pairings earned first and second place, respectively, at the ITA Central Regional Championships, qualifying them for the national tournament.
Iowa State joins North Carolina, Stanford, and Colorado State as the only schools with two doubles teams competing.
Naklo will also be competing in singles after winning the ITA Central Regional Championships singles title.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Naklo looks to be playing the best tennis of her Iowa State career. Currently riding a six-match singles winning streak, she swept through the ITA Central Regional singles competition, dropping just one set and becoming the first Cyclone ever to win an ITA event.
She's 10-1 in singles and 10-3 in doubles. Of her four total losses, three have been to ranked opponents; the other was to teammates Miska Kadleckova & Sofia Cabezas in the doubles final of the ITA Central Regional.
Naklo holds a 4-3 record against ranked opponents this season.
