After falling in the first round, Parker bounced back in the first round of consolation action. Trailing 2-1 heading to the third, Parker put in a tough ride on SIU-E's Saul Ervin. Parker rode the Cougar for the entire third, earning him one point for riding time and sending the match to sudden victory. In the extra period, Parker connected on an attack and took Ervin down for the 4-2 victory.
Jarrett Degen suffered an 8-6 loss to ASU's Cory Crooks in the 149-pound consolation round and was eliminated from the tournament. Degen finishes his career at Iowa State as a two-time All-American and four-time NCAA Qualifier.

During the second half of session II, the Cyclones went 3-0, receiving wins from Colbray, Coleman and Gremmel.
In the second round, Gremmel took on Missouri's Zach Elam. Just like their meeting earlier this season in Ames, Gremmel came out on top. The Big 12 champ's pace gave Elam fits, with Gremmel scoring two points for stall calls and an escape. In the end it was Gremmel over Elam, 3-1.
Colbray shook off a close loss earlier in the day and rolled through Wisconsin's Christopher Weiler on Thursday night. Colbray scored on four takedowns, a reversal, a locked hands call and added a point for riding time in a 12-4 major decision, securing bonus points for the Cyclones.
