Cyclones Earn First Big 12 Swimming Honors of Year

AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference named Martha Haas the swimmer of the week and Winter Craig the swimming newcomer of the week Wednesday. Both earn the accolade for the first time in their careers.
Haas swept breaststroke events against TCU with times of 1:03.62 in the 100 and 2:20.02 in the 200. The senior out of Minnetonka, Minn. swam in three top-two relays including the winning 400 medley relay team. Haas tallied 18 points in the dual as the Cyclones beat the Horned Frogs 173-161.
Craig notched the honor for her butterfly and relay performances. The Lakeville, Minn. native tallied her fifth 200 fly victory with a time of 2:05.27 and contributed to four relays. Craig currently holds the fastest 200 fly time on the team of 2:01.95 set at the Kansas Classic.
Haas and Craig return to the pool this Saturday for a double dual against West Virginia and Villanova in Morgantown, W. Va. The dual is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
