Cyclones Pick Up Wins In Sunday Tournament Action

The Iowa State tennis team continued action at the ITA All-American Championships and concluded action at the Cal Fall Invitational Sunday.

ITA All American Championships

CARY, N.C. - In her second singles match of the ITA All American Championships, Iowa State junior Miska Kadleckova fell to Virginia's Melodie Collard by a final score of 7-5, 6-4. Chie Kezuka's consolation match against Wyoming's Sophie Zehender was postponed to tomorrow due to rain.

Action will resume again tomorrow with Thasaporn Naklo and Ange Oby Kajuru opening play with their first singles matches in the qualifying draw.

Cal Fall Invitational

BERKELEY, Calif. - In extra matches at the Cal Fall Invitational, Iowa State earned victories in both singles and doubles action.

In singles, sophomore Anna Supapitch Kuearum defeated Arizona State's Marianna Argyrokastriti by way of a 6-1, 6-7(0), 10-8 victory. Sofia Cabezas went head-to-head with Cal's Hannah Viller Moeller and lost 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles play, Supapitch Kuearum and Cabezas beat MiaAngelina Ruju and Klara Kosan from the University Of The Pacific, 8-5.
