AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State swimming and diving team (0-1, 0-0 Big 12) will host their first home dual of the season against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits (2-2, 0-0 Summit League) on Saturday at 2 p.m. This marks the 13th meeting between the teams and Iowa State holds the overall series advantage 12-0 against SDSU.
THE OPPONENT- South Dakota State
Last season's victory put Iowa State up with a score of 158-78. The Cyclones took 11 of 13 event titles while solidifying the top three times in six events.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR- Free and Fly Events
Last meet's 100 fly saw Trinity Kay (58.87) and Lucia Rizzo (58.89) punching top times. The times not only all came in in less than a minute, but within .19 seconds of each other. Ashley Bengtson (5:07.18, first) and Sydney Jackson (5:07.48, exh.) touched less than a second apart in the 500 free last season, with Winter Craig (5:17.88, exh.) following to claim the top three times. Iowa State placed first in every butterfly event and finished within the top two spots in the freestyle events.
ON DECK- South Dakota
The Cyclones will return to Beyer Pool on Friday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. against South Dakota for another back-to-back home meet. Admission is free and open to the public.
