AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's golf team is tied for nineth place after the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate. The Cyclones compiled a team score of 285 and are nine shots back of the leader, Stanford University.
Taglao Jeeravivitaporn fired a four-under 67 and will head into the second round in a tie for second place. Jeeravivitaporn recorded six birdies and is only one shot back of the leader in the medalist race.
Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn and Pammy Chookaew are second on the team after carding rounds of 72. The two Cyclones currently sit in a tie for 30th place after their one-over-par rounds.
Charley Jacobs posted a three-over round of 74 and Liyana Durisic rounded out the Iowa State top-five with a first round 78.
Round two of the Stanford Intercollegiate will begin Saturday, Oct. 22 with the Cyclones teeing off at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
