THE SERIES
Iowa State will play Wisconsin for the eighth time in series history on Saturday. The Cyclones will be seeking their first victory against the Badgers, having lost all previous seven matches to the Big Ten opponent. The last matchup came in 2019 when the Cyclones fell, 5-2, on the road in Madison.
Memphis and Iowa State will meet for just the third time in series history. The Cyclones won the first two matches, both away from home. Their most recent meeting was last season when Iowa State beat the Tigers, 4-1, at a neutral site in Columbia, Missouri.
LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State was in Virginia last weekend, where it captured two wins to improve to 4-0 on the road this spring. On Friday, the Cyclones played and beat their third consecutive ranked opponent in No. 50 VCU by a score of 5-2. Iowa State then traveled to William & Mary, where they earned a 6-1 win to extend the best start in school history and remain undefeated at 9-0.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Chie Kezuka's development has been something to behold for the Cyclones this season. Last year, Kezuka held records of 15-16 and 0-7 in singles and doubles, respectively. This year, those records stand at 15-3 and 11-2. She recently moved into second place on the all-time wins list at No. 5 singles and will look to continue her high-level play as the competition gets stiffer.
BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ange Oby Kajuru continues to impact winning for the Cyclones and on Monday she was rewarded for her efforts. Kajuru became the third Cyclone under Boomer Saia to earn Big 12 Player of the Week accolades after going 2-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles action last week.
IN THE RANKINGS
Thasaporn Naklo enters the weekend ranked No. 67 nationally, while the doubles pairing of Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cabezas check in at No. 55 in the latest ITA doubles poll.
CYCLONE TENNIS QUICK HIT
Iowa State has been riding a program-record 21-match home winning streak since the end of the 2018-19 season. The streak includes three wins over ranked opponents.
