FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 34 Iowa State tennis team advanced to the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals with a 4-0 first-round win against West Virginia Thursday on the campus of TCU.
The Cyclones (16-5) advanced at the tournament for the second season in a row and the second time in school history. The 16 wins are the most by an ISU team since the 1986-87 season.
Playing WVU (7-17) for the second time in five days, winning the doubles point was a battle for the Cyclones.
