AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's golf season finished as one of the best in school history. The Cyclones advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the 12th-straight year, while having a pair of players advance to the NCAA National Championships.
KEY STORYLINES
-Taglao Jeeravivitaporn earned a pair of All-America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association and GolfWeek, becoming the first Cyclone to earn honors from either organization.
-Ruby Chou and Jeeravivitaporn qualified for the NCAA National Championships as individuals. Jeeravivitaporn tied for 17th, as she became the second player in school history to finish in the top 20 at the NCAA Championships. Jeeravivitaporn shot a 293 over the four rounds, while Chou shot a 231 in the first three rounds before missing the cut.
-Chou broke the Iowa State NCAA Regional 54-hole and 18-hole records with a 211 and a first round 68.
-Jeeravivitaporn carded the second lowest NCAA Regional 54-hole score in school history with a 213.
-Iowa State qualified for its 12th-straight NCAA Regional and finished ninth at the NCAA Stanford Regional.
-The Cyclones finished fourth at the Big 12 Championship.
-Iowa State recorded its best team finish of the season at the Gunrock Invitational, finishing third. Â Â
-Jeeravivitaporn finished the year with eight rounds in the 60s and was in the Top 11 in seven tournaments. Â Â
-Jeeravivitaporn recorded the second-lowest round in school history (65) at the MountainView Collegiate.
-Jeeravivitaporn tied for fourth and broke ISU's 54-hole record (207) with rounds of 67-71-69 (9-under) at the UCF Challenge.
-Liyana Durisic, who has the best career stroke average in school history at 73.04, opened the season with a victory (T1st) at the Wolverine Invitational.Â
