LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Iowa State (1-3-1) women's soccer fell to the Kentucky Wildcats (5-1-0) on Sunday 4-0.
The Cyclones and Wildcats played to a 0-0 tie in the first half before the Wildcats scored four second half goals to secure the victory.
Iowa State was out-shot 21-7 in the match and only tallied one shot on goal.
Senior goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz recorded four saves in the contest.
How It HappenedÂ
Jordan Silkowitz recorded her first save of the match after a shot by the Wildcats in the fifth minute.
A second shot attempt by the Wildcats was blocked a few seconds later.
Iowa State would record their first shot of the match by Jada Colbert in the sixth minute but it was blocked by a defender.
Both teams would combine for three shots that were off target before Kentucky registered a shot on goal in the 31st minute
The shot by Kentucky was saved by Silkowitz.
A combined four shots were recorded by both teams after the 31st minute until halftime. Each shot was either blocked or off target.
The match was tied 0-0 at half.
Kentucky tallied seven first half shots while the Cyclones tallied four.
After two shots in the first 14 minutes of the second half, Kentucky scored their first goal in the 59th minute.
In the 71st minute of the match, Salome Prat registered the first Cyclone shot of the second half but it was blocked by a Kentucky defender.
In the 79th minute, Senior Eva Steckelberg tallied the first Cyclone shot on goal in the match but it was saved by the Kentucky goalkeeper.
Kentucky would net goals in the 81st, 83rd and 89th minute to extend their lead and win the match 4-0.

The Cyclones will host in-state rival Iowa in their first home match of the season on Thursday, Sept. 8th. Thursday will be the first Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series event of the 2022-23 year. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT).
