ORLANDO, Fla. – The Iowa State women's golf team is in 17th place after round one of the UCF Challenge. The team posted a 292 total and will head into round two at four-over-par.
Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn led the Cyclones through the first round with a two-under round of 70. Chul-Ak-Sorn sits inside the Top-25Â after recording five birdies.
Taglao Jeeravivitaporn carded a one-over round of 73 and placed second on the team. Jeeravivitaporn knocked in two birdies to get her spring season started but finds herself in a tie for 55th place.
Liyana Durisic finished in a tie for 65th place after scoring a two-over 74 through the first 18-holes. Ruby Chou and Charley Jacobs rounded out the rest of the team. Chou will head into the second day in a tie for 76th place and Jacobs sits in a tie for 94th.
The second round of the UCF Challenge will begin Monday morning. The Cyclones will look to make a push up the leaderboard during these coming 18-holes. Â
