Iowa State Finishes Eighth At The Tiger Collegiate Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Iowa State men's golf team places eighth after the conclusion of the Tiger Collegiate Invitational. The Cyclones carded an 858 (292-283-283) three-round tally to finish at six-under-par for the week.

Luke Gutschewski led the Cyclones this week after tying for 21st place. During the final round, Gutschewski fired a three-under round of 69 that included five birdies. The sophomore concluded the tournament with a 210 (71-70-69) total.

Lukas Pany placed second on the team in scoring after recording a 217 (75-71-71) 54-hole total. Pany finished the week with back-to-back rounds of 71 to finish in a tie for 43rd place.

Nate Vance was able to get it going in the final two rounds of the tournament. Vance played his final 36-holes at three-under-par and fired a 69 that included an eagle on the 10th hole. Vance placed in a tie for 47th with a final tally of 218 (77-72-69).

Paul Beauvy was fourth on the team in scoring and placed in a tie for 55th. The freshman posted a 220 (73-70-77) three-round total and finished with seven total birdies and an eagle during his second round.

Zach May rounded out the team's top-five after placing in a tie for 65th. May posted a final round 74 that included five birdies to finish with a career-high 225 total. The freshman finished with seven birdies on the week and an eagle during the first round.

The Cyclones travel to Iowa City for the Hawkeye Invitational this week. The tournament begins with 36 holes on Saturday, Apr. 15, and will conclude with the final round on Sunday, Apr. 16.
