AMES, Iowa – No. 11 seed and 12th-ranked Iowa State plays host to the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals Friday at the Ames High Tennis Complex. Admission for the event is $5. The first 50 students will be admitted free with a University ID.
The winner will advance to the NCAA Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida May 17-20.

The Series
Iowa State and UCLA are meeting for just the second time. The Cyclones won the only previous meeting, 4-3, on January 28 in Miami, Florida, at the ITA Kickoff. In that win, ISU dropped the doubles point but came back and won, the only time this season losing the doubles point and winning (1-4).
In singles action, ISU collected points from Chie Kezuka, Ange Oby Kajuru and Sofia Cabezas before Miska Kadleckova clinched the match when she was playing at No. 4 singles. To read the recap of the match, click here.

Iowa State stayed perfect at home (6-0) with a 4-1 win against No. 22 Wisconsin in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cyclones cruised at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to jump out to the early lead, while wins from Thasaporn Naklo and Miska Kadleckova put the Cyclones one win shy of advancing to the Super Regionals.
The win came at No. 6 singles from Chie Kezuka, who clinched her 18th career match.

Iowa State is now 3-2 all-time in the NCAA Tournament as it makes its third appearance.
Player to Watch
Thasaporn Naklo notched her eighth ranked singles win of the season and the 22nd of her career last weekend when she beat No. 59 Ava Markham of Wisconsin.
Naklo now owns 33 ranked wins in singles and doubles combined, including three ranked singles win in postseason play. In addition to Markham, Naklo knocked off the nation's No. 30 and No. 6 players in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Naklo will face No. 14 Fangran Tian, who she fell to earlier this season.
