Cyclones Travel to Fighting Irish Classic Coming Off A Win

AMES, Iowa - Fresh off their win at the Zach Johnson Invitational, the Cyclones will be traveling to South Bend, Indiana to play in the Fighting Irish Classic starting Sunday, Oct. 1.Â

The Course: The design for the Warren Golf Course is based on the walkable Irish and American golf courses from the late 1800s and early 1900s. This is a links-style course spread across 250 acres. Warren Golf Course is ranked as the best public golf course in Indiana.Â

- The Cyclones have won two tournaments in the month of September, the Iowa Fall Classic and the Zach Johnson Invitational.
- Zach May carded a career three-round low of 209 at the Zach Johnson Invitational.Â
- The Cyclones carded the lowest round score of all teams in the field at the Gopher Invitational (276) and at the Zach Johnson Invitational (272).
- Luke Gutschewski won the Zach Johnson Invitational with a career three-round low (198) with all round scores in the 60s. Zach May (T3) and Paul Beauvy (T9) both joined him in the top ten.Â
- Owen Sawyer and Dianchao Wu both set a personal low round score of 70 and Sawyer set a three-round low (213) along with a new best finish (T12th) at the Zach Johnson Invitational.Â
- On the Cyclones' all-time career stroke average list, Gutschewski sits in first with a 71.57 scoring average.Â
