THE SERIES
Saturday will be the third meeting between Old Dominion and Iowa State. The series is tied 1-1, with Iowa State last picking up a win last February, 4-1, in Norfolk, Va.
The Cyclones opponent on Sunday will either be Oklahoma State or UCLA. Against Oklahoma State, the Cyclones picked up their first-ever win against the Cowgirls (1-49) last year.
Against UCLA, Iowa State is 2-0, picking up both wins last year at the ITA Kickoff Weekend and in the round of 32 at the NCAA Tournament.
LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State scored its first two wins of the spring season by taking down South Dakota and Missouri State last weekend at home. To read more about last weekend, click here.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Senior Isabella Dunlap is off to a hot start in the spring dual season. Last weekend against South Dakota and Missouri, paired up with Anna Supapitch Kuearum, the duo took down the No.1 doubles pair from both schools, 6-0 and 6-4, respectively.
In singles play, she grabbed two singles wins at the No.2 spot, taking down Sorcha Caves 6-3, 6-1, and dominating her match against Missouri State's Mary Houston, 6-0, 6-2. The senior from Edmond, Okla. will look to continue that hot streak against Old Dominion on Saturday.
CYCLONE TENNIS QUICK HIT
NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN – All three teams competing in the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by Iowa State are teams the Cyclones played last year, going 4-0 against them all.
GIANT SLAYERS – Iowa State will have a chance to pick up their 25th ranked win in program history against UCLA or Oklahoma State this weekend. Oklahoma State comes into this weekend at No.3 in the country and UCLA comes in ranked as the No.12 team in the country.
A win over No.3 Oklahoma State would be the second-highest ranked win in program history behind the Cyclone's win against No.1 Texas last year.
