AMES, Iowa - Brinley Horras has been named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after winning two events in Iowa State's swim & dive meet against Kansas over the weekend.
Horras climbed into 16th on ISU's all-time points leaderboard with victories in the 200 and 500 freestyle against the Jayhawks.
On Friday, the Ames native posted a 1:53.04 to win the 200 freestyle, three seconds shy of her personal best. The next day, she tallied a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle with a 5:01.62, raising her career point total to 566 as a Cyclone.
Up next, the Cyclones compete in the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 27-March 2 at the Mylan Aquatic Center in Morgantown, W. Va. All events will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
