URBANDALE, Iowa – Iowa State fell to Old Dominion, 6-1, in a hard-fought dual Friday at Life Time Fitness in Urbandale. In a rematch from Jan. 27, the Cyclones (2-3, 0-0 Big 12) captured the doubles point to begin the day but ODU (3-3, 0-0 Sun Belt) secured all six singles matches to take the dual.

The doubles point was hotly contested and needed all three matches to be decided. Iowa State flipped two results from the teams' first meeting to clinch the doubles point. After Old Dominion won a 6-0 decision at the No. 3 doubles spot, Valeska San Martin Ramirez and Ashlee Narker got the Cyclones on the board with a gritty 6-4 win over Allison Isaacs and Alexandra Viktorovich in the No. 2 slot.

At No. 1 doubles, Anna Supapitch Kuearum and Isabella Dunlap clinched with a 6-3 victory against Sofia Johnson and Lidiia Rasskouskaia. The result flipped a 7-6 (4) defeat from the last time the doubles pairs squared off.

ODU started off hot in singles action by securing victories at No. 4, 5 and 6 to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the dual.

The Cyclones battled hard at singles No. 1, 2 and 3 with all three matches needing a full three sets to be decided. Old Dominion dealt the deciding blow when Allison Isaacs bested Ashlee Narker, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, on court three.

Singles matches one and two were played to completion. Kuearum won the first set on court one, but ultimately fell, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, to Johnson. The match on court two went to a tiebreaker in the third set with Viktorovich topping Dunlap, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (6), to close the dual.
