Marx Finishes 135th at 79th US Open

LANCASTER, Pa. – Iowa State rising sophomore Keeley Marx concluded play Friday at the 79th US Open at the Lancaster Country Club.
After an opening round 76, Marx shot an 81 in the second round, missing the cut with her finish of 135th. One of 22 amateurs in the field, Marx ranked 13th among the amateurs. Just four amateurs made the cut, which was the top 75 players after ties.
Marx opened the day with five-straight bogeys on the back nine. Marx was just three over on the front nine, which included birdies on the third and seventh holes.
Wichanee Meechai takes the lead into the weekend, as she is four-under par. Just four players were under par through the first two rounds.
