AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's golf team concluded the 2023-24 season by making an appearance in the NCAA Regionals for the 18th time in school history and for the 14th-straight season.
KEY STORYLINES
-Iowa State finished the season with a 290.45 stroke average, the second-best in program history behind last year's 286.9. The four best season stroke averages for the team have come in the last five years.
-The Cyclonitas earned the 18th trip to an NCAA Regional in school history and the 14th-straight since 2010.Â
-At the NCAA Bryan Regional, Iowa State finished in seventh place.Â
-Liyana Durisic and Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn tied for first at the Big 12 Championship with a score of 207 - the best Conference Championship score in school history and fourth-best in Big 12 history. This is the first time in Big 12 history that a pair of teammates have stood at the top of the leaderboard. Â
-Iowa State's runner-up finish was its fifth Top Two finish at a conference championship in program history and first since 2017.
-The Cyclonitas carded an 863 at the Big 12 Championship breaking the Iowa State record for Low 54-Hole Score at a conference championship.
-The Cyclonitas carded a second round 283 at the Big 12 Championship, breaking the school record for lowest 18-hole round in conference championship history.Â
-Chul-Ak-Sorn and Durisic are holding the top two spots for low career stroke average.
-Chul-Ak-Sorn tied the record for Best Round in Big 12 Championship history with a second round score of 65, six-under-par. It was her second 65 of the season.
-Durisic and Chul-Ak-Sorn both earned Big 12 Championship All-Tournament honors and were named to the All-Big 12 First Team.
-Chul-Ak-Sorn finished the year with a 71.85 stroke average, the second-best in program history behind her 70.56 last season. Durisic's 72.64 stroke average was the fifth-best in program history. The pair hold the top two career stroke averages in school history, with Chul-Ak-Sorn at 71.24 and Durisic at 72.78. Pammy Chookaew's 73.98 career stroke average ranks sixth in school history.
