Upcoming Event: Track and Field at Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on December 6, 2025

AMES, Iowa – The 2026 indoor and outdoor track and field schedule has been announced, kicking off Saturday, Dec. 6 as distance runners head to the annual Sharon Colyer-Danville Opener in Boston.
ISU then has three-straight home meets, beginning with the Holiday Invite Friday, Dec. 12 followed by the Bill Bergan Classic Friday, Jan. 16. The Cyclone Open takes place Friday, Jan. 23. All indoor home meets are hosted at the Lied Recreation Center.
Jan. 30-31 the Cyclone have a split weekend at the DeLoss Dodd Invite in Manhattan, Kan. and the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston. The final indoor home meet follows that as ISU hosts the Iowa State Classic Friday, Feb. 6.
The next week, ISU will be at the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston and the Tyson Invite in Arkansas Feb. 13-14. A three-meet week comes next to wrap indoor regular season as Cyclones will be at the Arkansas Qualifier, Alex Wilson Invite and the Iowa Open.
Texas Tech hosts Big 12 Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28, and NCAA Indoor Championships hosted by Arkansas will be run March 13-14.
ISU then turns to outdoor season beginning with the Raleigh Relays and Central College Invite March 26-28. Next up distance runners will race at the Stanford Invite, while another crew of Cyclones compete at the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson, Ariz., the host of Big 12 Outdoor Championships, April 3-4.
Iowa State will stay close to home April 10-11 for the Jim Duncan Invite hosted by Drake, and the following weekend Cyclones travel to California for the Bryan Clay Invite and Mt. Sac Relays.
Drake Relays are slated for April 22-25, while ISU will also be in competition at the Payton Jordan Invite April 25 hosted by Stanford.
May action begins at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster, and the following week on May 8, ISU hosts the Cyclone Twilight at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
It is then time for postseason, with Big 12 Championships in Tucson May 14-16. Arkansas hosts NCAA West Prelims May 27-30, while the season is capped at NCAA Championships June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
