Christina Hillman is in her third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Iowa State track and field program in 2018-19. Hillman works with the Cyclone throwers.
Hillman helped associate head coach Fletcher Brooks with the Cyclone throws group. Each of the last two seasons, all of Iowa State’s throwers recorded a personal best in at least one event under the guidance of Brooks and Hillman.
Hillman, who graduated from Iowa State in May 2017 with a degree in Child, Adult and Family Services, finished her career as a Cyclone as the top female thrower in ISU history. The Dover, Delaware native was a two-time NCAA Champion and a seven-time First Team All-American in the shot put. Hillman swept the 2014 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor shot put crowns. A three-time Big 12 champion in the shot put, Hillman concluded her career as ISU’s school record holder in the indoor and outdoor shot put.
For all of her outstanding accomplishments in competition, she was even more decorated off the track. A finalist for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, Hillman was a two-time First Team Academic All-American, including being named the 2016 Academic All-American of the Year for cross country/track and field. A four-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection, Hillman volunteered more than 500 hours of her time at youth and shelter services.
