LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Iowa State men's golf team fired a three-round 882 total at the Kansas Invitational, tying for second in the 16-team field. The Cyclones and Nebraska were tied at 882, 20 strokes behind first-place Kansas.
Leading the way for the Cyclones was junior Joe Cermak and freshman Cameron White. The pair tied for 14th with a 220 tally. Cermak carded rounds of 74-71-75 and White posted scores of 75-73-72. White, a true freshman from Plymouth, Minn., fired a team-low 72 in the final round.
Kansas' Gary Woodland won the individual title with a 207 total, four strokes better than second place Jordan Irwin from Houston.
The Cyclones are back in action, Oct. 2-3 at the Nevada Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev.
