Iowa State Earns Eight More Wins at Tulsa Duels

TULSA, Oklahoma – Iowa State closed out the Tulsa Duels on Saturday by picking up eight more victories at the Hurricane Track Stadium. The Cyclone track and field programs finished with 11 wins on the weekend, having scored three wins on Friday.

In her Iowa State outdoor debut, Allanah McCorkle led an Iowa State 1-2-3 in the long jump, recording a winning jump of 19-11 1/2. McCorkle moves up to No. 5 in Iowa State history in the event. She was followed by Carsyn Spurgeon (19-1 1/2) and Tasha Frazier (18-5) in the standings.

The Cyclone women also got wins from Emma Whigham, who took the 400-meter dash with a personal-best of 55.75, and Bethanie Brown in the 1,500-meter run, as she led a Cyclone 1-2-3 sweep of the event. Tasha Frazier got the victory in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.57.

On the men's side, Iowa State also swept the hurdles events, with Elijah Young leading a 1-2 in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.54, and Davis Eldridge leading the Cyclones to a 1-2-3 in the 400m hurdles. In the field, Jalen Ford led a 1-2 in the high jump with a winning leap of 6-10 3/4. Iowa State closed the meet with a men's 4x400 relay win.
