AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State wrestling team (6-5, 1-2 Big 12) is headed to the state of Oklahoma for a pair of Big 12 contests. The Cyclones will face Oklahoma (6-6, 1-1 Big 12) on Friday evening at 7 p.m., followed by a match-up with Oklahoma State (8-1, 4-0 Big 12), on Sunday at 2 p.m.
ISU is on a four dual winning streak, its longest in over two years. The Cyclones started the year 0-4, but have since won six out of their last seven contests.

ISU vs. OU History
- Iowa State holds a 50-41-3 advantage all-time in the series against Oklahoma.
- ISU and OU first met on March 18, 1921. The Cyclones blew through the Sooners in Des Moines, 43-3.
- Oklahoma has won the last two match-ups, etching a 30-12 victory over Iowa State in Ames last season.

ISU vs. OSU History
- In nearly 100 years of competition, Iowa State has a 20-58-3 record against Oklahoma State.
- Like the Sooners, Iowa State first met up with the Cowboys in 1921. The Cyclones defeated the Pokes 37-9 in Ames for their first meeting.
- Iowa State will be looking to snap a 10-loss skid to the Cowboys. OSU won last year's match-up 34-3 in Ames.

-Iowa State is slated for a pair of Big 12 contests this weekend. The Cyclones will take on Oklahoma on Friday night and will close the weekend with a match-up against No. 5 Oklahoma State.
-Last year, the Sooners and the Cowboys topped Iowa State in dual action. All-time, Iowa State leads the series with Oklahoma, 50-41-3. The Pokes own the advantage over ISU with a 20-58-3 record, having won the last 10 meetings.
-The Cyclones have won four duals in a row for the first time since winning the Virginia Duals in January of 2016. ISU started the year 0-4 in dual action, but has since gone on to post a 6-1 mark. Iowa State's latest triumph came at the hands of West Virginia.
-The Cardinal and Gold trailed by as many as 11 against the Mountaineers, but ISU rallied to win the final four matches, including two by fall, to win the dual 25-16.
-The win over WVU is the first Big 12 victory at home for Iowa State since Feb. 14, 2016, which also was against West Virginia.
-Iowa State's hot streak started at the Virginia Duals. In Hampton, the Cyclones took down Virginia, Old Dominion, Lock Haven and Fresno State. Their only defeat came at the hands of eventual tournament champion, Arizona State.
-Against Fresno State, ISU wrestlers accounted for four total bonus-point victories, three of which came by fall. Both were season highs. Markus Simmons locked up a first period fall, Chase Straw won by major decision and Dane Pestano pinned his opponent in the waning moments of his match at 184 pounds.
-Iowa State has two wrestlers receiving national rankings. Ian Parker (20, NR, 20) and Jarrett Degen (NR, 18, 19) are all in this week's FloWrestling, Intermat and the Trackwrestling polls.
-Prior to the defeat of Oregon State, the Cyclones hadn't won a dual since Nov. 26, 2016. ISU also broke a nine-match home losing streak, which dated back to Feb. 14, 2016.
-In total, 22 wrestlers have competed for Iowa State in dual competition this season, which is well over half of the roster. The Cyclones have featured a different lineup in all 10 duals this season.
-Dresser and his staff have had to manage a very young Iowa State roster this season. Of the 33 Iowa State wrestlers, only 16 of them were on the team last year. The squad also consists of 25 underclassmen (freshmen or sophomores.)
-In 10 dual competitions, the Cyclones have four wrestlers with six or more wins. Chase Straw (6), Jarrett Degen (8), Dane Pestano (7) and Marcus Harrington (7) have been anchors in the Iowa State lineup.
-Those four, along with Sam Colbray (13), have all tallied 13 or more takedowns this season. Pestano (26), Degen (24), Straw (19), Harrington (16) and Colbray (13).
-Last year, Iowa State wrestled in 13 duals. They recorded 46 individual wins and 124 takedowns. This season, the Cyclones have racked up 51 individual wins and 152 takedowns in only 10 competitions.
-Since joining the lineup for the dual against Rider, redshirt freshman Jarrett Degen has been outstanding for Iowa State. He's compiled a 15-3 record and is a perfect 8-0 in duals. Degen has recorded 24 takedowns, two two-point near falls, four four-point near falls and three reversals. He's also scored three points via riding time in dual action.
-Iowa State has a pair of freshmen who are redshirting this year that are performing very well unattached. Marcus Coleman has posted a 19-2 record with his only losses coming to UNI's Taylor Lujan. He's won his last three tournaments. Ryan Leisure is 18-4. He's won three tournaments on the year.
-The Cyclones' top recruit in the class of 2017 took the mat for the first time at the Willy Myers Open. Austin Gomez went 2-0 to win the 133-pound bracket, knocking off teammate Markus Simmons in sudden victory in the finals.
