Cyclones Runner-Up At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, P.R. - The Iowa State women's golf team, ranked 26^th nationally by Golfstat, finished runner-up at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic after carding a final-round 301 this afternoon. ISU shot a 54-hole 892 total, 10 shots behind team champion and No. 4 Arkansas (882).

ISU was one of seven schools competing in the tournament in the current Golfstat top-50 national rankings.

Senior Celia Barquin Arozamena was the leader for the Cyclones, finishing runner-up at 219, three shots behind medalist Maria Fassi (Arkansas). Barquin Arozamena was 3-over on the front nine today, but battled back to shoot even on the back nine en route to a final-round 74.

It was Barquin Arozamena's third top-10 finish of the season and the 14^th of her brilliant career, tying for sixth all-time in school history.

Junior Chayanit Wangmahaporn notched her 10^th career top-10 performance by placing eighth at 223 with a final-round 75. Alanna Campbell (228) tied for 20^th and Amelia Grohn (230) tied for 26^th after shooting final rounds of 77 and 76, respectively, this afternoon.

Iowa State will be back in action at The Dickson Tournament in Houston, Texas Feb. 26-27.
