Naklo Advances At ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Iowa State freshman Thasaporn Naklo advanced to the qualifying draw of the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.
Naklo rallied for a gritty come-from-behind win against Kansas' Maria Toran Ribes, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Toran Ribes entered the match ranked No. 122 in the nation, giving Naklo her first career win over a ranked opponent.
With the win, Naklo advances to the qualifying draw to face either Central Florida's Marie Mattell or Auburn's Selin Ovunc.
Cyclone senior Maty Cancini, the nation's No. 99 player, begins play Monday at the tournament.
The Cyclones also concluded play this morning at the H-E-B Fall Invitational at Baylor University with a pair of matches.
