RIO GRANDE, P.R.— The Iowa State women's golf team finished ninth (304-297-290=891) at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
The Cyclones posted their best round on the final day, firing a 290, the fifth-lowest score of the day.
Kent State won the tournament (866) that featured nine teams ranked in the nation's top-50 according to Golfstat.
Chayanit Wangmahaporn saved her best in the last round, firing a 1-under 71 today. She had three birdies and two bogies on her card today. She tied for 24th (222) to pace the Cyclones.
Sophomore Joy Chou tied for 27th, carding rounds of 77-74-72 for a 223 total.
Iowa State's next competition is March 11-12 at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational.
