Iowa State Finishes Tied For Seventh At UCF Challenge

ORLANDO – The Iowa State women's golf team moved up on the leaderboard at the UCF Challenge this afternoon, carding a final-round 284 (4-under) to finish in a tie for seventh in the competitive 16-team field.
The tournament featured 10 teams ranked in the nation's top-50 according to Golfstat.
Iowa State ended the tournament with an 857 54-hole tally, 16 strokes behind team champion Vanderbilt, the sixth-ranked team in the nation.
Freshman Taglao Jeeravivitaporn posted the best finish and tournament of her young career, tying for 15th at 213 (71-72-70; -3). Jeeravivitaporn was a model of consistency in the final round this afternoon, carding four birdies and just one bogey.
Senior Chayanit Wangmahaporn matched Jeeravivitaporn's final-round 70 to finish tied for 24th in the medalist race. Wangmahaporn, who had three birdies and just one bogey on her card today, tallied a 215 score.
Junior Amelia Grohn was one shot back of Wangmahaporn at 216 (T26).
Iowa State is back in action at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, Feb. 10-12 in San Juan.
