ISU Wraps Up Thursday at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa State opened up its busy week at the Drake Relays during Thursday night's Distance Carnival at Drake Stadium. The Cyclones saw Maggie Davis and Alexis Gourrier represent ISU in the unseeded 800-meter run.
Davis took control of the race early on, leading for most of the first lap. Though she lost her lead early in the second lap, she got it back heading into the final corner, but run out of steam as the pack, including her teammate Gourrier passed in the final meters.
Both were not far off from their respective season-bests, Gourrier finishing 13th in 2:14.51, Davis close behind in 14th in 2:14.71.
