Cyclones Tie For Eighth At The Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – The Iowa State women's golf team finished ninth at the Silverado Showdown with a 54-hole total of 905.

The Cyclones carded a 306 in the final round this afternoon. Northwestern won the team title at 870.

The tournament was one of the toughest in the spring schedule with 11 teams ranked in the top-50, including seven in the top-30 according to Golfstat.

Senior Chayanit Wangmahaporn led the Cyclones by tying for 19th in the medalist race at 223. Wangmahaporn shot rounds of 72-73-78.

Joy Chou tied for 34th at 226, firing rounds of 72-78-76.

Iowa State will travel to Oklahoma this weekend to prepare for the Big 12 Championship (April 14-16) at the Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow.
