AMES, Iowa – The No. 11 Iowa State wrestling team (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) closes out its road trip with the Sun Devil Duals on Saturday. The Cyclones are set to take on Campbell (Noon CT), Harvard (2 p.m. CT) and No. 7 Arizon State (8 p.m. CT) at Chase Field, the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Sun Devil Duals will be the first collegiate wrestling event to ever be held at a Major League Baseball stadium.

CYCLONE HEADLINES
-No. 11 Iowa State travels to Phoenix, Ariz., where they are set to compete in the Sun Devil Duals on Saturday. Hosts No. 7 Arizona State, Campbell, Harvard and Iowa State make up the field for the Sun Devil Duals.
-The Sun Devil Duals will be wrestled at Chase Field, the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. This will be the first collegiate wrestling event to ever take place at a Major League Baseball stadium.
-The Cyclones are ranked No. 11 in the NWCA National Coaches Poll this week. ISU is also ranked No. 9, 9 and 11 in the FloWrestling, Intermat and TrackWrestling team rankings.
-Alex Mackall (9, 12, 12), Todd Small (21, 14, 10), Ian Parker (5, 5, 7), Jarrett Degen (8, 8, 10), David Carr (3, 3, 3), Chase Straw (NR, NR, 33) Marcus Coleman (15, NR, 14) Sam Colbray (8, 9, 8) and Gannon Gremmel (10, 9, 10) all are ranked in the FloWrestling, Intermat and Trackwrestling polls this week.
-Iowa State's nine individually ranked wrestlers are tied for the most of any Big 12 team.
-ISU opened its road trip with a 45-0 victory over Utah Valley in its Big 12-openeer on Thursday night. In the dual, the Cyclones posted five wins by fall, four of which came in the first period. Alex Mackall, Ian Parker, Ryan Leisure, David Carr and Joel Shapiro made up the quintet of Cardinal and Gold grapplers to net six team points in the dual against the Wolverines.
-Iowa State sent a troupe of grapplers to the Southern Scuffle. Gannon Gremmel emerged as the heavyweight champion of the tournament, posting a 5-0 record while outscoring his opponents 36-13.
-Prior to the holiday break, ISU defeated Chattanooga at home, 26-7. The Cyclones won eight out of the 10 bouts on the night, including a 21-6 technical-fall victory for David Carr.
-ISU finished sixth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, the second-best finish at the event in program history. In total, six Iowa State wrestlers reached the podium in Vegas.
-Alex Mackall (5th), Todd Small (4th), Ian Parker (4th), Jarrett Degen (6th), David Carr (3rd) and Gannon Gremmel (4th) made up the podium Cyclones at the CKLV.
-Through four duals, Ian Parker and David Carr both own perfect records. Carr leads the team in takedowns (14), back points (12) and total points scored (45). Parker is second those categories with seven takedowns, two back points and 22 total points scored.
-The attendance for the Iowa State-Iowa Dual (11,238) was the most in the last 20 years and the 10th-largest in Hilton Coliseum history.
-David Carr defeated then-ranked No. 2 Kaleb Young by 6-1 decision in the Iowa dual. Carr was named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his win over the Hawkeye.
-The Cyclones opened the dual season with a victory over the Bucknell Bison, 24-15. ISU won six out of the 10 bouts and received bonus-point victories from Degen, Carr and Coleman.
-The Cyclone wrestling roster continues to mature. After only returning one NCAA Qualifier for the 2018-19 season, Iowa State will return eight NCAA Qualifiers (Mackall, Gomez, Parker, Degen, Straw, Coleman, Colbray and Gremmel) and one All-American (Degen).
-Iowa State also returns 88% of its dual wins, 90% of its dual points scored and 90% of its total team wins from the 2018-19 squad.
-Beyond that, Iowa State has 66% of its dual starts over the past two seasons on the roster in 2019-20.
-Chase Straw has started in 35 consecutive duals for the Cyclones dating back to the beginning of the 2017-18 season.
-Dresser improved his all-time dual wins to 180 against Chattanooga. He currently ranks as the No. 17 winningest active coach in Division I wrestling.
