AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State swimming and diving team (3-3, 0-0 Big 12) opens conference competition against West Virginia (1-2, 1-0 Big 12) on Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. The Cyclones will travel to Morgantown to compete at the Mountaineer's new facility, the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park, for the first time.
THE OPPONENT- West Virginia
Iowa State heads into the seventh meeting with West Virginia with a record of 5-1. Iowa State won last season's meeting, 152-148.
The Cyclones are not the first conference opponent the Mountaineers have met in dual action this season. West Virginia secured their first conference win by taking TCU 165-88. West Virginia has also hosted the WVU Invitational and took part in the Toyota U.S. Open Championships. Penn State and Pitt have handed the Mountaineers their two losses
LAST TIME- South Dakota State
The Cyclone's last competition was cancelled due to inclement weather. The dual against South Dakota State will not be rescheduled.Â
WHAT TO WATCH FOR- Diving
Iowa State and West Virginia have put up similar scores on the one and three-meter. In each team's last competition, Iowa State's top-two scorers, Dana Liva and Michelle Schlossmacher Smith, put up a 279.45 and 269.00 on the one-meter, compared to West Virginia's top scores of 278.85 and 261.07. On the three-meter, Dana Liva and Jayna Misra scored a 299.10 and 288.90, respectively, compared to West Virginia's top-two scores of 295.57 and 272.25.

Iowa State returns home for the second double dual of the season. The meet will be split into two days, beginning on Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. and continuing Feb. 1 at 10 a.m.
