AMES, Iowa -- No. 13 Iowa State (8-2, 3-1 Big 12) will host No. 11 Arizona State (11 a.m.) and No. 15 UNI (3:30 p.m.) on Sunday, Feb. 14. The duals mark the final home date on the calendar for the Cyclones in 2021. Both of the duals will be streamed live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

CYCLONE STORYLINES
- Northern Colorado was originally scheduled to wrestle in Ames this weekend, but the Bears were forced to drop out in accordance with the Big 12 Conference's match interruption guidelines due to Covid-19 protocol within the UNC wrestling program.
- Between the duals with ASU and UNI, the Cyclones will honor Ethan Andersen, Sinjin Briggs, Sam Colbray, Jarrett Degen, Austin Gomez, Gannon Gremmel, Ian Parker, Todd Small and Austin Stotts for Senior Day.
- David Carr and Gannon Gremmel are both undefeated on the year, going a perfect 10-0 thus far.
- Cyclone veterans Jarrett Degen and Sam Colbray both re-emerged in the Cyclone lineup last weekend after being sidelined with injuries to begin the year.
- With a pair of wins on Sunday, the Cyclones will have won 10 duals in a season for the third year in-a-row. The last time this happened was the 2008-2010 seasons.

Catching up with the Cyclones
- Iowa State is 8-2 on the year, including 3-1 in conference. The Cyclones have posted wins over Wartburg, Loras, Nebraska-Kearney, Oklahoma, Iowa Central, Lindenwood, North Dakota State and South Dakota State.
- A total of eight Cyclones appear in the National Rankings this week: No. 25 Zach Redding, No. 5 Ian Parker, No. 5 Jarrett Degen, No. 3 David Carr, No. 25 Julien Broderson, No. 6 Sam Colbray, No. 20 Marcus Coleman and No. 5 Gannon Gremmel.

- In individual matches this season, the Cyclones are a combined 125-54 with 28 majors, six techs and 23 pins. The Cardinal and Gold are scoring bonus points in 46% of their wins thus far.
Carr Champ
- David Carr extended his winning streak to 23, dating back to December of 2019. During that stretch, he has accumulated six majors, four techs and four pins.
- Carr is a perfect 10-0 on the year with three majors, three techs and two pins. Five of his wins have come over opponents ranked in the top-25.
- He's racked up 38 takedowns and 48 total nearfall points in those matches.
- Carr is the defending Big 12 Champion at 157 pounds. Last year he joined Lelund Weatherspoon, David Zabriske, Cael Sanderson and Joe Heskett as the sixth Cyclone freshman to claim a Big 12 title.
- Carr made Iowa State history before ever taking the mat for the Cyclones. He won the 74 kg gold medal at the Junior World Championships to become Iowa State's first-ever Junior World Champion. He is the second Cyclone to medal at the Junior World Championships, joining Zach Thompson (Silver, 1998 - 90 kg).
Parker Power
- Ian Parker is 9-1 on the year with two majors, a tech and a pin. He is second on the team in takedowns (25).
- Parker was named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his 4-3 victory over Dom Demas in the Oklahoma Dual. Demas and Parker are now 3-3 all-time against each other.
- Parker won the 2020 141-pound Big 12 title with a thrilling 4-2 win over OU's Dom Demas in sudden victory two. He was seeded No. 4 at 141 pounds for the NCAA Championships.
The Gremmel Effect
- Gannon Gremmel is a perfect 10-0 on the year with two majors and a pin. Two of his wins have come over ranked opponents.
- He has 19 takedowns on the year and is averaging over eight points scored per match.
- Gremmel has won 22 out of his last 23 matches while anchoring the Cyclone lineup. During that stretch, the All-American has toppled nine ranked opponents and has won five matches by major decision and one by fall.
Better Late Than Never
- Jarrett Degen is a two-time returning All-American for the Cyclones. He began the year dinged up, but reentered the lineup last weekend against NDSU and SDSU, posting wins by major decision and decision.
- Sam Colbray is also a returning All-American that began the year on the mend. In his first action of the year, Colbray posted a 6-2 win over SDSU's Jacob Schoon.
- Marcus Coleman saw his first dual appearance against NDSU, defeating Owen Pentz by 24-9 technical fall. It'll be a battle between him and Yonger Bastida down the stretch for who gets the 197-pound spot come March.
Redding or Not
- Zach Redding is one of five true freshman who have wrestled in the varsity lineup this season. He's posted a 6-3 record in his nine appearances with one major and one tech. His only three losses have come at the hands of opponents ranked in the top-20.
- Redding has 17 takedowns on the year, five reversals. He's been great on top, securing riding time in five of his six wins and four, two-point nearfalls.
Back for More
- Entering his third season as the Iowa State head coach, Kevin Dresser had just one returning All-American and one Big 12 Champion on the roster. Now in his fourth year at the helm, Dresser returns two Big 12 Champions, six All-Americans and a combined total of 16 NCAA Qualifiers from eight different wrestlers.
- The Cyclones return 85% of their dual starts from the 2019-20 season and 76% of their dual starts over the past two seasons. In total, Iowa State returns 269 career starts with six wrestlers holding 28 or more career starts.
All-Americans
- With the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Championships due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the NWCA announced a first, second and honorable mention All-America team. Ian Parker, Jarrett Degen and David Carr were all named First Team All-America, while Alex Mackall and Gannon Gremmel earned Second-Team honors and Sam Colbray was Honorable Mention All-American. Iowa State now has 299 All-Americans in program history.
