Cyclones Go 13-Under, Finish Third At The Gunrock Invitational

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Iowa State women's golf team placed third at the Gunrock Invitational with a 13-under 851 total. The Cyclones carded rounds of 284-286-281 to finish just two strokes out of second place.

No. 1 Stanford won the tournament with a three-round 814 tally. The Cyclones, ranked No. 37 in the nation, were one of five teams in the Top 50 according to Golfstat in the 11-team field.

Taglao Jeeravitaporn, the 41^st-ranked player nationally in collegiate women's golf, continued her sizzling play on the links. The Bangkok, Thailand native tied for ninth at 212 with rounds of 68-71-73.

Jeeravivitaporn has placed in the Top 11 in five of six tournaments on the season, one of the most dominant stretches in ISU women's golf history.

Warda Amira Rawof recorded her first Top 10 performance as a Cyclone by joining Jeeravivitaporn in a tie for ninth. After a first-round 75, Amira Rawof finished the tournament with a 69 and 68 to go 7-under in the final 36 holes. She had four birdies and 14 pars in her final round.

A final-round 68 helped Liyana Durisic finish in a tie for 12th at 213. Durisic had a stretch on the back nine in the final round where she birdied five of six holes, including four in a row. It was her sixth career round in the 60s.

The Cyclones are back in action at the Mountain View Collegiate, March 18-20 in Tucson, Ariz.
